Facial Expression Sculpt

I started with 3D printed skulls and sculpted facial expressions on the prints. It was a really fun study and a great learning opportunity! I hope to cover the rest of the heads with clay, sculpt ears, and stain and varnish the stand. If you are an artist or actor interested in learning more about facial expression, “The Artist’s Complete Guide to Facial Expression” by Gary Faigin is an awesome book (I’m seriously going to refer to this book until it falls apart!) And if you are an art student at American River College, take Betty Nelson’s Facial Expression and Anatomy class! I cannot recommend it enough, she is an awesome teacher and you will learn so much!
